Gotta go play me a gig, but given the number of posts today let me direct your attention downward to the Christgau / webzines post below, which I'm quite happy with but which has only attracted off-topic posts so far. It's long, but worth a read, I hope.
Coming tomorrow, lord willing: Mochipet, Strong Bad Sings, and dancehall. In the meantime, you should probably go download this Frames song from Tangmonkey, as it's really beautiful. I've liked them ever since I saw them open for the New Pornographers, but none of their albums are as good as their ecstatic live shows, regrettably, which manage to go from beautiful pop bits to soaring a capella vocals to incredibly loud violin-driven noise freakouts in the space of a minute and a half.
